Corner of Main Street, Setauket "Corner -- Main Street, Setauket, L. I." The old bridge is the same as in the next postcard, but this is long before the Setauket post office was built. Both of the buildings, now gone, were stores at one time. Below the right one is written "Feather," the photographer. For an enlargement of the buildings, click here.

Setauket Beautiful Lake 1911 This real photo postcard by Feather is titled "The Beautiful Lake, Setauket, L. I." and was mailed in 1911. The angle is slightly different from the one above. At the right is an enlargement of the bridge and buildings, including the old post office (see below).

This picture taken in March of 2002 shows Neighborhood House and the stone bridge that replaced the one above, as well as changes in the buildings. It's still a very pretty spot.

Bridge across the same lake in Setauket Setauket Lake and Post Office 1925Left: is the earlier bridge to Old Field. This is not dated. The small white, single story, building to the right of the bridge is the old Setauket Post Office, shown in the card at right, that was mailed in 1925. None of the buildings seen remain.

The Corinthian Columns use American corn as their motif." It was built in 1941 and is still used as a post office annex. For a 2001 picture of the Setauket Post Office, click here.

The Dame and Mill, Setauket "The Dam and Old Mill, Setauket, Long Island, N. Y." This is an unusual view of the simulated mill built in 1937. The last working mill in the area was operated until about 1935. This is part of the Frank Melville Memorial Park.
