Continuing east along the north shore of the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, Long Island, is the town of Port Jefferson.

Radio Station 1943 "Radio Station, Port Jefferson, Long Island." Mailed in 1943. The card was published by "C. L. Darling, Jeweler and Stationer, Port Jefferson". The location was actually to the east in Rocky Point.

Crystal Brook Homestead Crystal Brook Homestead"Old Homestead, Crystal Brook, Port Jefferson." Crystal Brook is east of Belle Terre. The card on the right was published by Chas. S. Dickerson, Port Jefferson.

"Village and Harbor, Port Jefferson, Long Island, N. Y." This card, sold by Kane's Pharmacy, Port Jefferson, shows the same view as the one above, but the lake has been filled in (done in 1948), and a building is being erected on the spot.

Echo Hill "Looking North From Top of Echo Hill, Echo, L. I." This real photo postcard shows the intersection of Sheep Pasture Road on the left, North Country on the right and Main Street (25A) going down the hill.

Echo Post Office & Printing Office
"Echo Post Office & Printing Office, Echo" Signs on the Main Street building says, "Real Estate, Insurance" and "The Port Jefferson Echo." Postmarked Echo N. Y. 1908, Echo had a separate post office from 1888 to 1910. Echo was north of the train tracks and this building. Right: the same building is on the right.

Port Jefferson Train Station Left: a real photo of the Port Jefferson Station with the Hotel Echo in the background. The station sign says 11.28 miles to Wading River. Port Jefferson is now the end of the line. Right: A general view, also looking west, showing the lumber yard building on the left.

"Port Jefferson, N. Y. R. R. Station." Left: mailed in 1912. Across the tracks is "Loper Bros. Lumber Yard" and on the vehicle at the right "Bell..." - probably the Belle Terre station wagon. For an enlargement of the center click here. Right: mailed in 1905. The station was built in 1903 and renovated in 1998. Behind the train is a sign for a stable.

Main Street Looking Towards Port Jefferson Station Left: "Main Street Looking Towards Port Jefferson Station" mailed in 1911 from Port Jefferson Station. The sender said she was going to Stony Brook the next day. This is probably Hallock Road.
Right: Belle Croft House on Patchogue Road.

"Residence of Chas. A. Squires, Port Jefferson Station". The back is undivided (circa 1905) with a note, "where one of the trustees lives".

Terryville-Port Jefferson Station Union Free School "Terryville - Port Jefferson Station Union Free School." Probably taken around 1910 by A. S. Greene.
