Raod" - yes it's spelled wrong. Mailed in 1909. The wrought iron
railing
is over the rail road tracks. This is looking north with the train
station
behind you and stores in front. The curve is the one you see below from
the opposite direction. Right: also Plandome Road, mailed in 1924. At
the
right is a drug store.

This is the same building from the other direction. Signs are for a
telephone
pay station and laundry. This real photo card has an undivided back.
"Friends Meeting House,
Built in 1702, Manhasset, Long Island, N.Y." This is still there on
Northern
Boulevard (Rt. 25A) at the intersection of Shelter Rock Road. Not
mailed,
but changes have been made since this was taken.
"Dutch Reformed Church"
now known as the Community Reformed Church of Manhasset. Built by Dutch
farmers in 1732, replaced in 1816 and destroyed by fire. The present
church
building on Plandome Road was finished in 1898 and has an active
congregation.
"Fire Hall, Manhasset,
L. I." mailed in 1909. This is the Hill and Valley Fire House, which
was
on Plandome Road from 1912 to 1921.
Hempstead
Town Hall, Manhasset, NY. The picture at the left was apparently taken
when the building was new. For an enlargement of the building click
here. The wings and the belfry were added later.
