Aurora, Illinois


Aurora River Street "River Street from Galena Street, Aurora, Ill." Published before the first World War in Germany. The window at the left says McKinley.

Aurora Hotel Bishop "Hotel Bishop, Aurora" published by A. A. Londstrom, Aurora and printed in Germany before 1907.

Aurora Lincoln Highway From a postcard folder of Aurora which called it "The City of Lights." This view is of Lincoln Highway (the same road that goes through DeKalb). Labels above buildings are for the G.A.R., City Hall, and the Post Office.

Aurora Elgin Chicago 3 car Electric Train "A Three Car Train on the A. E. & C. R. R." mailed in 1908. More commonly known as the Chicago Aurora & Elgin electric line, this short line interurban railroad, which began operations in 1902, was abandoned in 1961. This site has more information.
